YouTube plays videos like songs even without a playlist? Since when??

Friday, August 27, 2010

This weekend is one of the first in a long time that has not been over-scheduled and I'm really thankful.

No soccer tomorrow morning yet the kids have a sleep over tomorrow night, so let the games begin:)

The Six Flags over GA fireworks just sounded very convincing as a quick thunderstorm and several late booms piled on.

Are You Ready For Google Goggles Yet?

I just ran across the following page and YouTube on a upcoming Google service currently available within areas of California (cities most likely near Google's headquarters) entitled Google Goggles:

http://bit.ly/drt1yz

The service is a visual search based upon using the camera within a smartphone. Having both a camera and camcorder (to some degrees) are among the largest quantum leaps for new smartphone owners like myself.

One simply cannot imagine until you actually begin using a camera on a regular basis how many times and ways photos can be used to complement simple eyesight in a technological world.

Within the video on the page, Google Goggles had a 50% success rate and I imagine that the percentage would rapidly increase if other viewers would be able to add their own suggestions and links to what an item may be in a way that I would describe as a Yahoo! Visual Delicious:)

Seeing that the service is initially available for Android devices, it is not too hard to foresee that Google Goggles will be available on the iPhone at some point in time.

There are so many mobile developments to combine the digital and analog worlds together that I am wondering when will Microsoft ever decide to get into the game.

After talking with a diehard Microsoft friend tonight, it seems hard to imagine that the company that made a huge pivot onto the internet can realistically sit this dance out for long.

As long as iTunes and the App Store are the golden handcuffs, Google Goggles and other services in the mobile digital world will certainly continue to require touching the Apple base before getting in a position to score.

Peace!

A quick look at iTunes virtually confirms Apple will target television viewing just as they did for music & phones!

Is GetGlue a web2.0 pimp slap to FriendFeed and/or Ping.fm? It is beginning to look that way;)

Simple, Unrealized Benefit of Gmail Phone Calling

I just realized that outbound calls made from Gmail will use your Google Voice phone number on any Caller ID displays, so those calls are more likely to be returned the same number.

I just saw this article this morning which mentioned the idea:

http://bit.ly/cz7ZFu

On all recent marketing materials ordered and most other places where my telephone number has been requested, I had already included my Google Voice number for the voice mail transcription along with notifications via both SMS and e-mail.

Since the calls can be returned via Google Voice (via iPhone or iPod Touch), it may make sense to now consider reducing the number of minutes paid for voice calls altogether (if there is a break even point somewhere).

The entire set up still requires weighing the typical calls as being made from a wifi zone or 3G regardless of equipment being used before the pricing can be considered. No one wants to have to think about every call before making one.

Peace!

If the NAACP does not protest NBC's Outsourced before anyone else, then legalize extortion please!!

NBC's Outsourced = Amos & Andy + Curry - Good Times + The White Shadow #fail #failwhale

The NBC sitcom Outsourced is not to be compared to Slumdog Millionaire. It's just a flea carrying, mangy dog:(

I believe Outsourced the movie may be funny, but the tv sitcom is pure minstrel and a race to the bottom for NBC:(

Hearing the hip hop presence in chill music is mindbending;)

The suicide rate among the military and now border patrol along with the lack of US' funeral honors signal Shakespearean handwashing.

The thought of 9-11 victims having to agree to not ever sue US government later parallels the Tuskegee experiments.

The Ground Zero mosque is another puppet string to shepherd votes regardless of which political party uses it.

#GOP = domestic conservatism yet extreme and aggressive liberals in exporting US' surplus. #tcot

War has been viewed as profitable and necessary far too long. It is only surpassed by chosen ignorance & isolationism.

Too many are globally profiting from world division yet puppet master control of basic instincts goes unchecked by the masses.

The rush to judgment on the Ground Zero mosque occurred far faster than the examination and rebuttal that 9-11 was not a false flag op.

The greater hypocrisy surfaces where the supposed proponents of the global view choose to play the isolationist role for domestic votes.

To reject anything based upon what we physically sense means that either past legislators were wrong or we are misapplying the laws today.

The Ground Zero mosque debate reveals what we really feel and believe about the US Constitution. It is not a conditional document is it?

As great as waves are, this week contains the global event to shock those living on thin ice. Friday to Sunday

After the experiencing the beauty of this past weekend, I will totally welcome the rain;) #gratitude

2nd attempt on wife's iPod Touch to iPhone 4 sync. The 1st attempt did not grab all the apps although the notes & contacts made it over.

Is it now state and local fair season or are they just flying south and early ahead of the oncoming, colder months?

The start up, restoring, & sync process is definitely not going to take place in fast food spots!

Michael Jackson's Music Potentially Soiled With Guest Artists

I was always under the impression that the music to be released would feature songs already recorded that were not selected for past albums or totally unreleased.

To hear new artists being added just for their current status is totally unnecessary and clearly would keep me from buying anything new.

I have not bought Thriller 25 for the same reasons although I better understand how that project was done (after his death unfortunately).

Red flags are clearly being attached to existing careers for the wrong reasons!

I expected more!
